#OOTD strike a POSE for your next photo shoot

Chin up and strike a pose!
Remember you are gorgeous no matter what shape or size you are.

Is posing for a photo shoot easy?

Let me tell you how it can be ..

It's fun when you go for your photo shoot prepared.
I create looks fit for different occasion. I am not a small or medium size. I am somewhere between L to XXL, it depends on the fabric of my outfit.

In the beginning for every photo shoot I practiced, practiced, practiced, and I still practice a lot. I mean literally a lot.

Posing for these photo shoots has not always been easy for me.  In fact, I still struggle when I have to do outdoor shoots in 45 degree heat in the UAE. It feels like a photo shoot in a sauna. When the clients request an outdoor location, sunrise and golden sunset light are the best options.

First, no matter what season it is, sunrise and sunset are always amazing for a photo shoot. Second, try to avoid a midday shoot whenever possible, otherwise the photos don’t turn out to be that great and you will end up blaming yourself when the photos don't turn out the way you wanted. Just in case you don't have sunrise or sunset option, then try and look for some shade where the sun is not on top of your head otherwise it will create a shadow on your face which might not be what you're going for.

During summer in Dubai, 9:30am is generally the latest you can plan an outdoor photo shoot unless you have a nearby indoor place to cool off and then come back to take the next shot.

Posing for a photo shoot is like a plank workout. It's not as easy as it looks. I'm reminded of this every time I take on a new project. Thanks to my photographer, who has helped me find my angles. Great teamwork, right?

Let me share a few tips of how I finally get the shots I like.

TIP NO. 1
Teamwork with the accessories and your outfit

- Outfit

In this picture, I chose a gorgeous gown for an event during Summer.

Choose the colors of your outfit according to the season. In Summer, light and pastel colors look beautiful and the fabric should be according to the weather, too.

- Accessories - Connect with your reader

Find a table where you can place your accessory. You do not always have to hold it in your hands. Now you have a pose where all you need to do is to look at it. Isn't this simple?

- Movement

When you look towards the accessory remember when I mentioned that photo shoots are like a plank workout. Take one position and move your face and your body to give the photographer a chance to get couple of shots to choose from.

- Smile or not to smile

Natural smile is always best for a bubbly themed shoot but when you are going for a picture without a big smile here is what you can do.

TIP NO. 2

Show Off THE WOW FACTOR In Your Outfit

- Details, Details, Details

Details of any outfit is very important to be seen. Make sure that when you pose make your movement in a way that the details of the outfit are noticed in the first glance.

*explain what you're talking about

TIP NO. 3
Find Yourself A Perfect Backdrop

- Background Completes Your Photo

This backdrop is just a beautifully painted wall I liked. I would recommend to go around different spots and make a list of artistic walls. This way you will not need a studio and your photo shoot will look professional.

TIP NO. 4
The Staircase And Posing With Your Hands

- Perspective is everything
I learned this tip from my photographer. It's all about perspective. When we were doing the photo shoot for Hard Rock Cafe t-shirt, we found this staircase. First I was skeptical about taking a shot from above as my legs looked shorter. Again, it's all about perspective.

- Posing with your hands

Relax your hand when posing. I try not to keep both the hands parallel. If one of my hands is near my chin the other one I keep around my waist or hips. In this picture I held the staircase to connect with the background.

By the way I designed those tights myself. Comment below if you would like to see how I did it. It's pretty simple.

TIP NO. 5
Find Your Light

- Work with the natural lighting

In this photo I am standing next to the window where the soft natural light is touching my skin and my outfit. Natural window light is better than any indoor lighting. Face towards the window to have your features visible and this will avoid over editing of the pictures.

Hope you find these photo shoot tips useful.
